It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of one of our own, Miriam Frankl. On behalf of the faculty and staff in the Department of Biology, the Chair of Biology, Beverly Wendland, and Miriam's faculty advisor, Rejji Kuruvilla, extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Miriam's family and friends. Our classrooms are darker due to Miriam's absence, and the magnitude of the loss of the potential harbored in Miriam's unbridled excitement and enthusiasm for her recent foray into research will unfortunately never be known.
