Assistant Professor Xin Chen has been awarded 2009 Packard Fellowship in Biological Sciences; to identify the molecular characteristics that are essential for normal stem cell functions that could be targeted to prevent cancer and many other human diseases. |

The Bodossaki Prize of 2009 in the area of Biomedical Sciences has been awarded to Professor Evangelos Moudrianakis in recognition of his pioneering contributions in the field of chromatin structure, the crystallographic solution of the structure of the protein core of the nucleosome and the discovery of the histone fold. The results of the work of his team have empowered us with a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms of the chromosomal regulation of the genetic information in DNA. |
